Junior/Intermediate Occupational Hygienist

Our Edmonton head office requires a junior/intermediate Occupational Hygienist on an immediate, full time (40 hours per week), permanent basis.  The successful candidate should have the following:

Qualifications:

  • B.Sc. or Diploma in Environmental Science (various disciplines) or post-secondary education in Occupational Health and Safety, Occupational Hygiene;
  • Working towards certification as a CRSP (Canadian Registered Safety Professional), Registered Occupational ROH (Registered Occupational Hygienist), or CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) would be an asset;
  • Experience in the Occupational Hygiene field (hazardous building material assessment, abatement monitoring, air quality sampling), preferably within the consulting industry;
  • Experience with conducting Phase I ESAs would be an asset;
  • Experience with hazardous building material abatement would be an asset;
  • Able to write technical reports effectively and efficiently;
  • Valid driver’s license is required (work-related travel will be compensated); and
  • Ability to travel throughout Alberta and be out of town for short periods of time.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with design and undertaking, overseeing occupational air monitoring programs hazardous materials assessments, abatement monitoring programs, and noise assessments;
  • Provide data review and interpretation and be involved in technical reporting;
  • Communicate effectively with fellow workers and the senior project management team; and
  • Liaise with third-party contractors including but not limited to laboratory service providers and regulatory agencies.
