Safety
Safety is one of our core values, so we have workplace hazard assessments and controls included in every project. As part of our commitment to Health and Safety, Nichols has achieved our COR (Certificate of Recognition from Government of Alberta) certificate since 2001. Nichols is also a member in full compliance to the standards of ISNetworld, Avetta, and Comply Works.
Our employees work in a cooperative spirit with all clients to ensure the safety of all worksite personnel.
All Nichols employees and subcontractors must complete a job-specific hazard assessment before commencing any site project work. Nichols staff are continually upgrading and training for safety through courses like:
- TDG
- WHMIS
- First Aid
- Ground Disturbance (Level II)
- Construction Safety Training Systems
Key personnel working in the upstream oil and gas industry also receive:
- H2S Alive
- Confined Space
Safety Objective
Our safety objective for every project is to complete the work using safe procedures and behaviours, resulting in zero injuries/near-miss incidents. Through our commitment to all staff and management, our incident rate is ZERO – with no lost time incidents or injuries for the last five years.
